The death has occurred at Wagga of Mr Samuel Angel, one of the oldest residents of the district and a member of one of the earliest pioneering families of Australia. His father, Mr Henry Angel, was a member of the Hume and Hovell expedition that in 1824 crossed the Murray from New South Wales into Victoria. Mr Samuel Angel had been married 61 years, and he retired to Wagga after 50 years on the land. He called his Wagga home Wardry after the station on which he was born. Later the name of the station was changed to Uardry.
