Death of a father | Ernest John Withers February 2, 1937 (aged 14 years) Obituary MR. E. J. WITHERS. After ailing for a long time with kidney trouble, Mr. Ernest John Withers passed away yesterday morning in the Base Hospital, where he had been an inmate for a week, during which he underwent an operation. Deceased, who had come from Leeton to Orange about 12 years ago, was 52 years of age, and resided in Sale Street. Death came to him in an institution which he helped to build. He leaves a widow, formerly Miss Webster, who was his second wife, his first wife having died many years ago. Two daughters and three sons from the first marriage are Dorothy and Alice (married, residing in Lithgow and Orange, respectively), Messrs. Richard, Frederick and Clarence Withers (Orange). One son, Ernest, aged only three was born of the second marriage and resides with his sorrowing mother in Orange. Deceased had brothers living, one of whom (Watty) is known to be at Leeton.
