One was about James and Alice’s wedding day. He said she told him that many people came to the wedding from around the area travelling by horse or horse and sulky. Many families coming to the wedding, including the Butts family, met for lunch at James’s parents home between Monteagle and Bendick Murrell, before travelling on to the wedding in the Roman Catholic Church at Murringo.
