Mr. William Franklin was admitted to the Gundagai Hospital on Thursday last, after an illness of four days.

At 1.80 a.m. on Friday he collapsed, and died somewhat suddenly, the cause of death being intestinal/obstruction. Deceased was 61 years of age and leaves a wife and several children, He had resided at or near Adelong Crossing nearly all his life, except during the past 12 months, which time he lived at Jones' Creek, Gundagai.

He was very well known and respected in the Adelong district. Deceased was a party to the Adelong Crossing lawsuit involving his title to the Franklin property, decided in the Sydney court some time ago.
