Note	Rex was taken out of school at 16 to work in the Lithgow small arms factory. He was an academic and was devastated about this. He ended up going to Sydney Technical College. His grades were exceptional and he worked for the United Nations in the ILO department all over the world. Rex was an only child, he had one cousin, Jack who has swam in the senior Olympics.
